WorldQuest 2010!
Friday, Feb. 19th | Centennial Hall
It's WorldQuest time again! This is JWAC's single largest fundraiser and is an absolute blast. This year the event's master of ceremonies is our very own Senator Dennis Egan, and as always will feature:
-Our famous International Trivia Contest
-International Buffet Dinner, catered by the Baranof, with no-host bar
-Silent Auction of exotic goods and experiences
-Silent Auction of fabulous desserts
Proceeds from this fundraiser allow us to present our expert speaker lineup and travelogues through the year, and also support the annual JWAC Forum.
Tickets are $60 for adults, $25 for students, and are available at Observatory Books (299 North Franklin), from board members, or at the door. For tickets and questions, call JWAC at 586-4223 or send us an e-mail.
Semi formal attire is recommended, and in light of the no-host bar, any participants under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
This year there will be more than enough food and the quiz will be faster-paced (hurrah!).
Participants are encouraged to form teams of eight (approximately) beforehand to take on the international trivia challenge. Teams will also be formed at the event, so don't hesitate to come on your own or in a smaller group. The quiz entails forty-eight multiple-choice questions —eight questions in each of six international categories —history, politics, geography, etc. Prizes go to the winning team and runner up. Honor and glory are bestowed upon all participants.
Please support JWAC by attending WorldQuest and our other events through the year!
