-Date and time details are determined as events approach, and events are added to the schedule throughout the season. Check back often for new information, and be sure to join our e-mail notifications list to receive regular updates. You can also sometimes find information repeated on Facebook.
-This page is the primary repository of JWAC event information. If you can't find what you're looking for here, then it simply doesn't exist yet.
-All JWAC presentations are free and open to all to attend as an audience member. Please arrive a few minutes early. Posted event times are when presentations start.
-JWAC does not stream presentations. They are instead professionally recorded at Juneau's public media station for later broadcast on Alaska public television, and also posted on YouTube (see season archives for links). All event postings include location information in their headers. Most often, Travelogues take place at the Gold Town Theater, and speaker presentations and Forums at KTOO Studio 1.
-Every person involved with JWAC is a volunteer. These events are a gift to our community.

Join Sarena to discover Nova Scotia and the rich history of the early Acadian settlers of Atlantic Canada! Sarena will discuss her recent autumn road trip through Nova Scotia and the Cabot Trail, emphasizing current Acadian culture, original settlement sites, and the history behind Le Grand Dérangement (The Great Expulsion) that displaced the Acadian people and gave rise to Louisiana's cajun culture. Doors at 5:00 p.m. Donations to the Gold Town gladly accepted.

Come along for the ride with Shari and Judy, as they venture beyond the familiar waters and discover the remote wild beauty and surprises that make Alaska so unforgettable. In August 2026, they embarked on their dream adventure through what they call the ''Outside Passage'' from Kodiak to Dutch Harbor. Aboard the ''Rusty Tusty'' (AKA M/V Tustumena), there was plenty of breathtaking scenery, wind, waves, and, of course, a minor detail of almost leaving a passenger behind! Doors at 5:00 p.m. Donations to the Gold Town gladly accepted.

Tuesday Travelogue: Seoul to Sapporo: Crossing South Korea and Japan by Bike

Mark Peterson has crossed North America, Africa and Europe by bicycle. His most recent bicycle trip was 7 weeks in 2026 in east Asia. These are bicycle and tourist friendly countries. He will share highlights of traveling across South Korea from Seoul on the northern border to Busan on the south coast. He will also show highlights of traveling the rural interior of Japan from Nagasaki in the south to Sapporo in the north. Doors at 5:00 p.m. Donations to the Gold Town gladly accepted.
